Creative Arts Supervision

Under HCPC guidelines, all creative therapists are required to access regular supervision. These sessions offer a confidential space to reflect on clinical work and consider ongoing professional development. But reflective practice isn’t just for therapists—any role that involves caring for others, including in the NHS, education, charity or community sectors, can take its toll.

Supervision offers a supportive space to process the emotional impact of this work. At Pomegranate, we believe that carers need to look after themselves in order to care well for others.
If you think you or your organisation could benefit from supervision, get in touch.

Sophie Riga de Spinoza

At Pomegranate, my current supervision work supports a wide range of professionals, including creative and psychological therapists, NHS staff, safeguarding teams in children’s and adults’ charities, arts facilitators, and senior leaders in schools.

My approach is flexible to meet the needs of the supervisee, and draws on my psychotherapy background, as well as my creative arts supervisor training. Sessions can include the use of talking , as well as the medium of creative arts such as objects, art, picture cards, movement etc, to explore the work-related material presented by the supervisee.

Laura Hubbard

At Pomegranate, my current supervision work supports creative arts therapists and student therapists, who work in a variety of different settings; schools, NHS, prisons and charities to name a few.  I predominantly support therapists and councillors who use the outside setting- as this is an area I have specialised in working with over the past 10 years.

My approach draws on my own experience of working therapeutically within the educational and outside setting. Sessions can be a mix of talking, as well as working creatively using Moohi Lahad’s  creative supervision methods, which are widely used within my practice as a dramatherapist.
